Brazil's Largest Land Animal ever Found !!

Austroposeidon magnificus.

Introduction.

Our planet has seen various animals over the course of its history. So, there were many animals that walked the world before mankind. Some were little, while others were rather enormous. Dinosaurs had the largest animals to ever walk on land from that infinity of beings, Some of them came from a family called Titanosaurs.

The Biggest land animals of all time.

Titanosaurs were a type of sauropod dinosaur. From a 7-meter long Neuquensaurus to a 40-meter long Patagotitan mayorum, they were the last surviving group of long-necked sauropods that thrived at the end of the Cretaceous period (the Cretaceous epoch). This family contains numerous species of long-necked dinosaurs. The name of the group relates to the fabled Titans of Greek mythology through the original genus (now regarded a nomen dubium) Titanosaurus. Titanosaurs, along with brachiosaurids (another group of enormous sauropods) and their relatives, comprise the larger sauropod clade Titanosauriformes. Titanosaurs have long been a poorly studied category, and the relationships between titanosaur species remain unknown.

But today i am going to talk about Brazil’s biggest dinosaur yet unearthed, the Austroposeidon magnificus.

Brazil's Titan.

In 1953, paleontologist Llewellyn Ivor Price found remains of a giant sauropod. The remains included parts of the neck, dorsal (back), and sacral (hip) vertebrae (including a cervical rib and one complete dorsal vertebra). specimen was discovered in the Campanian-Maastrichtian Presidente Prudente Formation of the Bauru Group in Brazil, but the remains were not described until 2016. In 2016 paleontologists classified this animal in the titanosaurian clade Lognkosauria and named as Austroposeidon, the word Austroposeidon is made up of two parts: Austro, which means southern, as in South America (Brazil), and Poseidon, a Greek God. In Latin, austro means "south wind."  Lognkosaurians can be distinguished from other titanosaurs by the wide and unusually thick cervical rib loops on their neck vertebrae, their extremely robust neck neural spines, the relatively narrow neural canal, and their huge vaulted neural arches. They also had very wide dorsal vertebrae with wing-like side processes, and extremely wide rib cages. Their dorsal side processes are also fairly in-line with the level of the neural canal, instead of being attached further up the neural arch as in lithostrotians.

Size of the Giant.

Estimating sauropod size is a tricky business, since many of these animals are only known from a few bones. The death of a large animal would have been a bonanza for scavengers, and it would have been exceedingly rare for a natural event to cover the massive carcass quickly enough to protect it from predation and the elements. Best guesses, within a range of error, are arrived at through comparison with other species. Although the found remains of this animal were too few to fully describe this animal Scientists estimated Austroposeidon was 25 meters in length and 6 to 8 meters tall. They probably lived in forests and depended on vegetation in it.

Austroposeidon is one of the giant sauropods that shown in prehistoric planet. Although The behaviors of the animals were completely speculative it is the first time this giant as shown in a documentary.
